China's first maritime museum welcomes visitors

A specimen of a giant squid stretching around 8.3 meters is on display at the "Ocean Today" exhibition hall, at China's first national maritime museum, in Binhai New Area of north China's Tianjin Municipality, on May 1st. The museum started its trial operation, with four exhibition halls themed "the ancient ocean," "ocean today," "journey of discovery" and "the age of the dragon" open to the public. [Photo: IC]
