Rare African white lions make debut in central China

Two African white lions are seen at Zhengzhou Zoo in Henan Province on September 26, 2019. The zoo has imported three rare lions from South Africa for the first time. According to staff members, all of them are 2-year-old lionesses whom are expected to mate with imported male lions in October. White lions were first discovered in South Africa. Scientists have deduced that they may have been a species from ancient times. There are less than 100 white lions left in the world. [Photo: VCG]
