This photo taken on Saturday, October 12, 2019 shows a forest of Huyang trees in Alxa League in northern China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Huayang tree, also known as Populus euphratica or desert poplar, is a species of poplar tree in the willow family. The tree can survive in the harsh conditions of the desert. Thus, Chinese people have dubbed it the “desert hero.” At the start of autumn the Huyang trees turned to gold, creating a stunning scene in the desert. [Photo: VCG]
