Myanmar holds traditional Water Festival celebrations

People celebrate Myanmar's traditional Thingyan Water Festival in Yangon, on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Celebrations have been held to mark Myanmar's traditional Thingyan Water Festival. The event is highlighted by performances of Myanmar traditional dance troupes in colourful dress and Thingyan music. This year's Myanmar Thingyan water festival will run for four days until Sunday. The Myanmar New Year falls on Monday. In Myanmar, water is a symbol of cleanliness and auspiciousness.
