Philip Zhang and Ofentse Morake met at a café in Tsinghua University. Philip is a first-generation South African-born Chinese who came to China to do his master’s degree in international construction management. He would like to take his knowledge back to help South Africa and build the relationship between the two countries.

Ofentse resigned from his job in South Africa so he could complete a master’s degree in nuclear engineering management. He’s doing an internship at China’s State Power Investment Corporation. He thinks China is the fastest-growing market for nuclear power. Ofentse has a positive outlook for the future of Africa, and particularly South Africa. He hopes to return to his country and put to use the knowledge he has learned in China.
