This beautiful place is one of China's largest Tibetan sutra-printing houses, also called as Dege Auspicious and Wisdom-gathering House. The house enshrines more than 320,000 Tibetan printing blocks, including religion, history, literature, art, medicine, astronomy and calendars.

Dege Sutra-printing House is located at Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous prefecture of Sichuan Province, and was established in 1729. The total area of the House is about 5,000 square meters and the main building covers an area of 1,500 square meters with two floors. It was designated as a major unit of cultural relics under provincial protection in 1980 and as a major unit under state protection in 1996. In 2009, Dege engraving printing technology was added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
