China is currently building around 10,000 bridges each year, boosting development of cities and villages they connect. A sea bridge linking Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau is under construction using 550,000 tons of steel and 2.3 million tons of cement.
Stretching 35 kilometers over the sea, it will reduce the current commute time from 4 hours to just 30 minutes. The bridge is due to be completed this year.
