Ferghana horses are extremely rare in China, and arrived through the Silk Road over 2,000 years ago.

The Kazakh's of China are exceptionally skilled at riding this type of horse, which originated in Uzbekistan and Krygyzstan. The horses can run up to a kilometer in 67 seconds.

The Chinese know the horses as ‘sweaty blood horses’ because the horse’s thin skin glistens a red blood color when sweaty.
