It has been two years since work on the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project started in December, 2014.
The construction of subgrade, bridges and culverts and track laying have been completed.
A test for full operation is currently underway to ensure that the catenary system, communication equipment, signal and other equipment along the railway line are all functioning normally.
Adjustments will be made when a glitch is found, until each part of the system is seamlessly running.
