Chinese New Year Parade in New York City
The annual Chinese New Year Parade took over New York City's Chinatown on Sunday, the festivities featuring musicians and dancers in traditional garb.
Event-goers crowded the streets amid the rain, with the hopes of setting intentions and celebrating the Year of the Dog, which means loyalty and trust. The Lunar New Year is the most important holiday in the Chinese calendar. It is based on the phases of the moon and began on February 16.
