Salt painting artist in South Africa

Percy Maimela is a 37 years old self-taught artist from Pretoria, South Africa, who discovered his passion for drawing when he was in Grade 3. But it was not until some salt spilled on the floor of the shop where he worked that he discovered he had a unique ability to turn an everyday item into realistic works of art. With reinvigorated energy for life he has become a full time Ground Artist, using the material around him to produce art.
