世界首例克隆猴在中国诞生 China clones world's first macaques

Chinese scientists have for the first time cloned（克隆） monkeys using the same technique（技术） that produced Dolly the sheep two decades ago.

The two identical long-tailed（长尾的） macaques, Zhong Zhong（中中） and Hua Hua（华华）, were born（出生） eight and six weeks ago.

They are the first （首例）non-human primates to be cloned from a non-embryonic cell（细胞） using a process called somatic cell nuclear transfer（体细胞核移植）.

The research is expected to shed light on the study（研究）, intervention（干预） and treatments（诊治） of some complex human diseases（疾病）, such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, and autism.
