解放军航空兵部队举行实弹射击演练 PLA's aviation brigade holds live-fire exercise

An aviation brigade of the People's Liberation Army Ground Force held a live-fire exercise off the country's southeastern coast(东南沿海) on Wednesday, according to a statement from the PLA Ground Force(解放军陆军部队).

The statement, which was released(发布) on Thursday morning(早晨), said multiple types of armed helicopters(多型号武装直升机) took part in the drill(演练) that lasted(持续) until late night(深夜) at sea and verified the brigade's all-day combat capability(作战能力) on the sea.

Yang Baowei, deputy commander of the brigade, was quoted in the statement as saying that the exercise was aimed at honing the unit's operational capability at sea(海上), at night(夜间) and against sophisticated electronic countermeasures(复杂电磁环境) . The event also tested pilots' ability to respond to rapidly changing situations in action, he added.
