李连杰近照吓呆网友 Jet Li's health worries fans

A photo of the famous Chinese Martial Arts movie star(明星) Jet Li has fans concerned over his health.

Despite multiple injuries(受伤) throughout his career(职业), and a few health problems, Jet Li's manager(经纪人) responded to the fans saying not to worry, it's just a bad photo of someone who is 55 years old.“ He has hyperthyroidism that he's been dealing with for almost 10 years. It's nothing life-threatening and he's dealing with it,” Li's manager, Steven Chasman,  told the Washington Post, adding that he has spoken with Li's assistant(助理).

Jet Li's appearance during a recent visit to Tibet has sparked(引发) concern(关注) for the martial arts legend's health(健康). Pictures of an aged(年老的) and frail(虚弱的) Li shocked his fans online. Many people on social media in China and Hong Kong have been drawing unfavorable comparisons between the 55-year-old Expendables star and someone 20 or 30 years older, according to a report in Hong Kong's Apple Daily.

Li revealed(透露) in 2013 that he was suffering from hyperthyroidism as well as a heart(心脏) condition. Quoting his doctor, Li said at the time that he could “either continue making [action] films or spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair(轮椅).” Adding, "I'm in pain(痛苦) but I'm not in a wheelchair yet,”

Earlier serious injuries to his legs(腿) and spine(脊柱) sustained on film sets over the years had also limited(限制) his movements(行动), and he admitted he can no longer stand for a long period of time without hunching.

Reluctantly withdrawing(退出) from filmmaking, Li has in the last few years dedicated his time to his charity(慈善), The One Foundation, which mainly focuses on disaster relief and children's welfare in China.

A few years ago, Jet Li told the press, “I'm in pain, but I'm not suffering(受苦). I'm happy(快乐),” he said, adding that he took medication(药物治疗).

Then again in 2016 when fans were worried about his health, Li said, "There is nothing to worry about my health,” he said, joking that, “I’m not sure which wheelchair company is putting out such news to sell more wheelchairs. Perhaps someone wants me to be a spokesman(代言人) for their heelchairs.”
