丹霞发起免费徒步活动庆“三八” Free hiking at Danxia Landform Geopark held to celebrate Women's Day

A special tourism poromotion activity(活动 huódòng) was held at Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park in northwest China's Gansu Province on Saturday to celebrate the upcoming International Women's Day(国际妇女节).

Thousands of visitors came to Binggou Danxia scenic area(冰沟丹霞地质公园), also known as the Ice Valley, for a free(免费 miǎnfèi) tour(游览 yóulǎn) and attended the hiking(徒步 túbù) activity through Danxia landform areas.

The Danxia landscape was formed over millions of years of tectonic movement and natural erosion of compact sand and mudstone soil, giving rise to caves and colorful rock formations.
