New high speed railway on route, between Beijing and Shenyang

The new high speed railway line connecting Beijing and northeastern China's Shenyang has been conducting trial tests for a month. After it is put into operation, the travel time between Beijing and Shenyang will be cut by one and a half hours. The new rail route will also significantly cut the travel time to a number of smaller cities that are currently not connected to the high speed rail network. Residents in Chaoyang, for instance, will be able to travel to Beijing in just 2 hours while traveling on the current rail line takes over 12 hours.[Photo: VCG]
