An aerial photo taken on May 23, 2019 shows kelp being left to dry on a beach in Xiangdong Village, Daqin Island, Shandong Province. There are about 867 hectares of kelp farms around the Island and local kelp farmers are usually occupied with their summer harvest between May and August. In 2018, fresh kelp harvested in the area amounted to 182,000 tonnes, with about 10 percent of the total used to make dried kelp products. [Photo: Xinhua]
