The typhoon(台风), the eighth this year, made landfall(登陆) at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday in Lianjiang County(连江县), east China's Fujian Province, bringing gales of up to 42 meters per second at its eye.

Strong gales uprooted many trees, broke(损坏) fish rafts and caused hazards(危险) on roads in Lianjiang, a fishing county.

Fujian ordered all fishing boats to return to harbor(海港) by Tuesday noon and workers at offshore fish farms(渔场) were required to return to land by 6 p.m.
