神秘鸳鸯成纽约“明星” Mysterious mandarin duck makes a splash in NYC's Central Park

A rare(稀有的 xīyǒu de), beautiful(美丽的 měilì de) and mysterious(神秘的 shénmì de) mandarin duck(鸳鸯 yuānyāng) was spotted chilling in a pond in NYC's Central Park. Native to East Asia, no one knows how it got there. The colorful bird has become a "celebrity duck" as large crowds flock to the park in a frenzy to catch a glimpse of it.

Since there is no female(雌性 cíxìng) mandarin duck in the park to cross-breed, it has been named "New York's most eligible bachelor(单身汉 dānshēnhàn)" by New York Magazine.

The park authorities have publicly stated that they would not intervene(干预  gānyù) with the duck unless it gets injured and needs medical care.
