川藏铁路段工人冒着严寒施工 "Chuanzang" rail workers brave Tibetan winter

The Sichuan-Tibet Railway will be the second rail(铁路 tiělù) connection into the "roof of the world(世界屋脊)" after the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. The Lhasa(拉萨)-Nyingchi(林芝) section(段 duàn) is the main(主要的 zhǔyào de) east-west section running through Tibet. The overall project(项目 xiàngmù) is worth over 100 billion yuan. Once completed, the line will run over 1,600 kilometers, connecting Sichuan's capital, Chengdu(成都), with Tibet's regional capital, Lhasa(拉萨).

The so-called "chuanzang" line is expected to be complete(完工 wángōng) sometime in 2025.
