Leaf carving by craftsman in Shanxi

Photo taken on March 2, 2018 shows the "Mona Lisa" carved by Hao Xudong. Leaf carving, or namely painting on leaves, is a process which takes 3 days to collect, preserve, strip, pattern and carve the leaves. Hao Xudong is a former paper-cutting craftsman and has been leaf carving for 9 years, making around 100 pieces in total.
