Chinese research vessel sets sail on seamount expedition

On Saturday China's research vessel the Kexue, or "Science", departed from Qingdao, Shandong Province for the Magellan Seamounts in the west Pacific. With a crew of 80 on board, the vessel will explore the little-known seamounts in the Magellan chain. It is expected to return in late April. [Photo: IC]
