Ailing tree catches public eye, raises environmental protection awareness

A tree was spotted with a bizarre surface that quickly gained the public's concern in the city of Wuhan, Hubei Province on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Dong Likun, a plant protection expert from Wuhan Gardens Science Research Institute, has examined the tree which has grown in a deformed manner and said the phenomenon is commonly found on a tree's trunk or branches and may have been caused by injuries, a virus or a fungus.
