Lanterns are hanging under the roofs of houses in the Forbidden City. Hanging lanterns is one of the traditions of the Lunar New Year, which is considered a good omen and will help bring joy. The Forbidden City is planning a Lunar New Year exhibition to reappear how the royal family celebrated the holiday in the Qing Dynasty. The exhibition will be divided into two parts, one is on display to be viewed and another is an interactive area for curious visitors. The exhibition will last for two months from January to March in 2019. [Photo: IC]
