Anhui couples participate in traditional Han group wedding

A total of 19 couples from Hefei, Anhui Province of China attended a group wedding in the traditional Han style on January 11, 2019. The Han refers to the Han Dynasty of ancient China which existed from 206 BC to 220 AD. Han people, which are the majority ethic group in China, consider the Han Dynasty as the origin of their nationality. The Han style wedding is a more serious, philosophical and ceremonial event with rituals that focus on the couple becoming united as one, rather than a feast and entertainment for guests.
