Thousands of students across the United States walked out of their classrooms and joined a nationwide demonstration against gun violence on March 14, 2018.

Marking one month after the deadly high school shooting in Florida, protesters urged the government to act on gun violence in schools.

In Washington, the student march started north of the White House, then continued on Pennsylvania Avenue and arrived at Capitol Hill, where several Congressmen greeted the angry protesters.

Speaking to the students, lawmakers have praised the courage of the students and promised to continue to push for tighter gun control.

Similar events have been held in major American cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago.
