中国对美国进口食品等加征关税 China imposes tariffs on imported U.S. goods
China said it's rolling out new tariffs(关税) on meat(肉), fruit(水果) and other products(商品) from the United States as retaliation against taxes(税) approved by U.S. President Donald Trump on imported(进口) steel and aluminum.
The Chinese finance ministry said in a statement that the new tariffs begin Monday. The announcement(宣布) follows warnings Chinese officials have made for several weeks in an escalating(升级的) trade dispute(贸易争端) between the world's two largest economies(两大经济体).
China's Customs Tariff Commission is increasing the tariff rate on pork products and aluminum scrap by 25 percent. It's also imposing a new 15 percent tariff on 120 other imported U.S. commodities, from almonds to apples and berries.
