Heron struggling to swallow a fish too big

A heron is seen swallowing a large fish after struggling for several minutes to get its meal down its throat. The bird flipped its dinner about in its beak for five minutes before finally managing to get it down. This scene was captured by photographer Richard Shepard in the Viera Wetlands, Florida moments after it speared the 12-inch-long Nile tilapia using its long beak.
